Spread the Love…

I was recently catching up with a friend in St. Albans for coffee in Starbucks. When Georgina went to order the coffees the woman next to me started a conversation. I could feel that she was a bit lonely and had come to be with people somewhere in the warm (it was freezing outside).  This resonated with me because in the past at weekends, when there was no-one free to be with me, I would go to the gym for a swim, then eat and read in the cafe there,  just to be in the presence of others.  The woman relutanctantly allowed the conversation to finish when Georgina came back with the drinks and muffins.  The woman went back to her book and another female joined the area we were in, sitting opposite us.  Having noticed her presence I continued chatting with Georgina.  After a while the second female loudly announced she had to leave now as she’d found herself eavesdropping on our conversation. I invited her to join us but she graciously declined and made some lovely comments about me in response to mine and Georgina’s conversation (it was true she had listened well lol).

The first lady had since left unnoticed but the second lady was clearly confident and happy to announce that she was interested in talking further so I gave her my website address and said to email me if she wanted to keep in touch.  I suggested she made the subject heading Starbucks Blonde.  Well she did email and now I have a new friend, which is great.  I expect you’re wondering about the point of all this…. Well its to be kind with your time, to smile at people and to respond to the old lady at the supermarket checkout or young person in the post office queue as you are making them feel good, this in turn will make you feel good.  This is even more important at this time of year, as many people out there are lonely, feeling unwanted or unloved.

At a recent EFT Conference David Hamilton the Happiness Guru says when you do a good deed you also feel good because the kind act releases oxytocin in both you and the recipient.  The great thing about this is that the chemical dampens down the stress hormones and helps longevity of life.  Double whammy then!!

Another message is to be aware of synchronicity and unusual opportunities, to make the most of them.  I don’t know why I was meant to meet the Starbucks blonde (Jackie) but I felt it was of a mutual interest and went with the flow, not knowing why, but just feeling that all things reveal themselves eventually (see the dvd The Celestine Prophecy or read the series of books also Deepak Chopra’s Synchrodestiny).

I would like to share with you a link to a lovely video made by Chris Cade which says all my heartfelt wishes for everyone out there who has ever met me, will meet me (whether in person or the ether)in this life or others and of course all of you reading this blog as our connection.

Seasonal blessings & much love Dee xx
